The Cat in the Hat esssay

I decided to do the evaluative essay on the fish. The fish maintained the superego throughout the story. From the beginning the Fish always wanted to do the right thing, because he was a party pooper he wanted the Cat to leave right when he stepped into the house. All the Cat wanted to do was show the kids his tricks (which isn't creepy at all) and the Fish had to be responsible and say the Cat should leave. And then things got even weirder when the Cat pulled out his box with his little friends, and even the kids started to get a little creeped out. The Fish maintained the superego in the end of the story when the mom was walking down the sidewalk, which the Fish just happened to see. And once he told the kids their mom was coming they finally decided to put an end to the Cat and his friends. So the Fish shows his effect on the other characters, because if he wasn't such a goody goody the kids would have most likely gotten in trouble. So the Fish was a superego throughout the story because he influenced Sally and the narrator to get rid of the Cat, and he wanted the kids to be safe from creepy cats and their boxes of fun.
